Water
Water should be Clean and lukewarm. Also extra hot water in case the temperature of the water falls below body temperature. Add two teaspoons of salt per litre to the water. Tastes light salty.

Food
It is important to take the special food called Khichadi after fininshing the Shankhaprakshalan. For Khichadi,  white rice and pulse(Moong Daal), cooked with ghee (clarified butter). This preparation should be semi-liquid. The rice and lentils should be cooked together in water until soft. A little turmeric can be added, but very little salt. Finally, the butter should be mixed in Khichadi. The components of Khicheri are helpful in the restoration of correct digestive function and remainten the other functions which becomes weak after complete empaty intestine and stomach. The butter is necessary to coat the intestinal walls until the body produces a new layer. The rice provides a simple, easily digestible carbohydrate, and creates mucus which also prrotects the inner lining of the alimentary canal. The lentils supplement the light easily digestible protein(speciality of Moon Daal only), and make for an all rounded nutritious meal. A sufficient quantity of khicheri must be eaten to reline the intestines and keep the walls of the gut stretched, otherwise they may cramp due to the absence of the bulk to which they are accustomed. This bulk not only maintains the tone but aids the intestines to resume peristalsis. It is also important in order to prevent indigestion, diarrhoea and constipation.
It is better that a friend who is not doing the practice together can prepares the khicheri which is to be eaten after the 30 minutes after completing Shankhaprakshalan. No any physical work should be performed before commencing and no food or beverages should be taken. If the bowels are not evacuated prior to the practice it helps stimulate the peristaltic movement.
Light and comfortable clothing should be worn.

Complete intestinal wash
Drink two glasses of warm salty water as quickly as possible.
Perform the following five asanas 1.Tadasan, Tiryak Tadasan, 3. Katichakrasan, 4. Tiryak Bhujangasan, 5. Udarakarshanasan, dynamically, eight times each in the correct sequence.
This is one complete round. Do not rest between rounds or after completing the round.
Drink two more glasses of warm salty water and again repeat the five asanas eight times each. Repeat this process a third time.
After completing third round, go to the toilet and check if there is any movement in the bowels, if they have not yet been emptied. Don not strain. Start same practice again and check again, if there are any pressure then go to the toilet and pass little time and come again and repeat above practice again.
Again go to the toilet, but do not use force to produce a bowel movement. Continue drinking the water, performing the asanas and going to the toilet when the pressure builds up. As little time as enough spend in the toilet and remember the aim to build up the internal cleansing pressure. At first solid stool will be evacuated with a mixture of water. Next more water and less solid stool will be excreted. Eventually cloudy yellow water and, finally, almost clear water will be evacuated. Sixteen to eighteen glasses are generally required for perfectly clean water is evacuated, but it varies from person to person. This practice should be performed relax and peaceful mind.

Precautions
Practice
It is very important not to exceed the point beyond which almost clear water is being passed, as the system may start producing bile, indicated by bright yellow water. It is better to stop when the water is still slightly cloudy.

Rest
While resting for 30 minutes after completing the practice, you should not sleep otherwise possible to catch headache or cold may result. No water or other fluids should be taken until at least two hours after the first special meal. Cold liquid will chill the digestive system.

Food
Drinking or eating anything before the prescribed period will dilte and wash away the new protective layer which is being reproduced by the body on the stomach and intestinal wall. For at least one month after the pactice, all chemically processed, synthetic, pungent, spicy, acidic, non-vegetarian foods must be strictly avoided. No pickles, sweets, chocolates, ice cream or soft drinks should be taken. Milk, buttermilk, curd, acidic fruits, alcohol, cigarettes, tea, coffee, and other type of intoxicant material are restricted.

Shankha Prakshalan is the perfect technique to clean intestine. It is combination of five different exercises in the order as shown in the picture. It takes 2 to 3 hours by repeating these five exercises with drinking little warm water added salt. It is nice to do open area in the fresh air. Temperature should be not cold where the practice take place. It is also nice to have the clear guidence during the practice. It can be also nice to have someone in case of problem.
There are some description about the Shankprakshalan and it's method to do. Before doing better ask to your Yoga teacher who know about this technique and able to guide you.
